I shouldn't have to tell anyone that, but I was very very lazy with building a good strip. I don't really care, though, I just wanted to make the joke. I probably didn't even get the character designs even close to how they should look. I usually hate for these scribble comics to be so many "panels".
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates for the DS... is kind of a bitch. It's not that it's difficult, but it's full of inconveniences and useless abilities. I'm hardly even into the game yet and I'm already frequently annoyed.
Casting magic requires that you stand still and manually move a targeting reticle over your enemy, leaving yourself completely open for attack.
Party AI is retarded. computer-controlled allies are useless. They hardly attack, and rarely follow you around on a given map unless you summon them by force.
"Tribal abilities" are the abilities that consume your MP-equivalent meter. The ability for the main character requires that you once again stand in one place and tap a number of touchscreen targets that appear on the enemy. You're still totally open to attacks, so even though you can attack in rapid succession, you're still gonna take more damage than you would if you just jumped around and used your normal attack.
(On the off chance that someone who has played the game stumbles upon this strip, don't bother pointing out that it should be 200 SP depleting instead of HP. That's not the joke)
...you guys remember Robin? She was always so cheery and helpful.
Also, I realize that this reference (as far as a comparison is concerned) is certainly a stretch, but it's been stuck in my head all week.

The skinny knight guy's tribal power requires you to drag your MP items out of your inventory and onto the field, then you use the stylus to draw a line from him to the item and it apparently explodes, or casts the spell, or something. I dunno, it's like an even dumber and less efficient way to leave yourself open.
Also, the Select button is largely unused (so far), and yet there's no Pause function. Closing the case in the middle of a fight isn't helpful.

For the game, they are bugs and strange things, okay, but it's not a problem ! If the history and characters was quite good, it was enough (well for me...After it's not the think of everybody eh !).

The Yuke's tribal ability does require the stylus but not in battle. I beat the game using just my finger to switch character/magicites. I wouldn't recommend the stylus at all. You should just have to press X to cast a selected magic spell!

I love this! That first fight is a hard one. The game definitely is a tad different from the gamecube crystal chronicles. I found myself healing a lot. Other than the dumb AIs and the frequent KO's I get, it's not that bad.

It's not a bad game, it's just very sepcific. Much like the Harvest Moon games, you'll either love it or hate it.
I agree that the stylus functions are cumbersome, but other than that the game is fairly enjoyable. Its certainly better than FFIII.
